So, this is my entry for the contest over at
, the basic description for the contest being: "Make a Rito persona of yourself going about a daily life on Dragon Roost Island."
And so I give to you my Rito persona, Aloki.
Aloki, like me, is a bit of a night owl (no pun intended, for srsly), and so she almost never sees the sun. This is why she's sickly pale compared to the other Rito. Like me, she also has a love for music (though I gave her a more high pitched and more portable instrument than the ones I tend to favor) and she also has a love for foreign and ancient languages. She also loves helping people, and tries to offer wisdom when and where she can, always trying to learn from her mistakes and from the mistakes of others, as a wise man (her father) once told her to do so, "for you won't live long enough to make them all yourself."
Factoring these in, based on what little we've seen of the Rito, she would probably make a good Attendant, if only for her love of music, of ancient languages, and her desire to help others (not very creative, I'm aware). I know that if I were to ever write another Rito-based story (and believe me, the temptation has struck more than once), that's the job I'd give her. She's a little chubby too, tho it's a little hard to tell because of her clothes. Not too heavy to be unable to fly and such, but she's still a little bigger than many of her tribe mates.
Also, I noticed this as I was researching Rito designs... if you look close enough, their legs actually bend just like bird legs. Just look at Medli's picture. The art style makes it hard to see, you have the knees, then it bends backwards to the high ankle (yay digitigrade feet), and then down to the feet. I personally find humanoid legs more attractive, but I just think it's pretty cool that they did that.
My apologies for the lazy background. I am sleep deprived. I don't know how much more I could manage, so I opted to submit it as is.

Oh, it's a beak! XD I thought the beak was some kind of different nose at first, when I looked at the thumbnail. Anyway...I like the peaceful emotion that's being portrayed here. The colour scheme does very much to help that, too. Also, the texture looks very nice with the flat colours. :> I like how you drew her face the best, especially the markings and calm expression. The left hand looks a little strange, though...because I know that it's holding the violin, yet it looks a bit too twisted, less delicate than her other hand. But I can't be too sure. n__n I do like the clouds, too. XD
